The Municipality of Concordia carried out the inauguration of the Security Camera and Community Alarm System in the Benito Legerén neighborhood, a significant step within the public policies aimed at strengthening citizen security.
During the activity, Mayor Francisco Azcué highlighted the value of working together with the community and stressed that “when we work side by side with the residents, the results arrive faster and are more solid,” noting that the incorporation of cameras and alarms “not only improves the neighborhood's security, but also demonstrates a present State that listens and provides concrete responses.”
Furthermore, he announced that in the coming days, the repaving of one of the neighborhood's main arteries will begin, a long-awaited work that will improve circulation and the quality of life for the inhabitants.
For his part, the Secretary of Government, Luciano Dell’Olio, remarked that this progress “is a collective achievement, the result of an organized and participatory community.” He added that the community security policies promoted by the municipal administration “are strengthened when the resident collaborates, proposes, and gets involved, because that enhances all our work.”
In the same vein, the Director of Citizen Participation, José Vedoya, pointed out that “resident participation is fundamental: every contribution, every concern, and every meeting is transformed into concrete decisions like the one we celebrate today.” He also affirmed that the municipality will continue to deepen this approach in all the city's neighborhoods, convinced that “the best results are achieved when the resident is the protagonist.”
The inauguration of the new video surveillance and alarm system consolidates Benito Legerén as an example of coordination between institutions and the community, reaffirming a municipal administration that is committed to proximity, territorial presence, and the joint construction of solutions for security and neighborhood development.
The event was attended by the Undersecretary of Public Works Mateo Sastre and the Participatory Budget Coordinator, Sebastián Reinafe, as well as local residents.
