Through joint work between the Undersecretariat of Social Development and the Undersecretariat of Urban Security, this past Monday, February 2nd, the recovery of a new Multipurpose Hall (SUM) located in the “El Silencio” neighborhood was completed.
The space, whose purpose was to be used for carrying out activities for the local residents, was being used for the operation of a nightclub.
Upon the arrival of the authorities, the person in charge of the hall voluntarily handed over the keys and their respective copies, with a record being made in the minutes, as well as the condition in which the facilities were received, such as the state of the openings, lighting, electrical installation, and restrooms.
From now on, and once the place has been reconditioned, the Municipality, through joint work between different areas, will soon begin the development of training sessions aimed at the neighborhood residents, strengthening instances of support, learning, and social care. At the same time, young people and adults will have a place dedicated to vocational training, community participation, and gathering, promoting personal and collective development.
The SUM will be available for social, cultural, and community activities, consolidating itself as a reference point for integration and the strengthening of the neighborhood's social fabric.
With this one, there are now 9 community halls recovered by the municipal administration that were in a complete state of abandonment, vandalized, or destined for activities unrelated to the use they should be given. Today, they are spaces where the community can participate in different cultural, sports, recreational, or educational workshops, among others.
Currently, there are 27 community halls in operation, distributed throughout different neighborhoods of the city.
