With the purpose of expanding the information circulating in the community regarding public policies, programs, and specific benefits for people with disabilities and their families, the Disability Directorate of the Municipality of Concordia carries out meetings and exhibitions in coordination with the Municipal Disability Council and the National Disability Agency (ANDIS).
“It is important that people know the scope of the programs and institutional tools that support people with disabilities in the pursuit of a better quality of life,” noted the municipal director of Disability, Marcelo Primitivo, in this regard.
“In this administration of mayor Enrique Cresto, we have advanced significantly in terms of policies and initiatives that place people with disabilities at the center, from a place of closeness, listening, problem-solving, and generating opportunities,” the official highlighted.
“We are working extensively with institutions, in the Disability Council, with the Province and the Nation through ANDIS, with this hallmark of teamwork from the Mayor that enables a much broader and more effective management and intervention dynamic,” he added.
“That is why these talks are to share what is being done, explain how the programs work, provide guidance and clear up doubts, and, mainly, to be closer to the people and families who perhaps did not know about all these programs and benefits before,” argued Primitivo.
The Assembly Hall of the Municipality of Concordia was one of the spaces chosen for these open talks. On this occasion, the topics addressed focused on obtaining the Unique Disability Certificate (CUD), the procedure for non-contributory pensions, the steps to manage the Official Medical Certificate (CMO), and the different support, care, and containment programs for people with disabilities that are currently in effect.
