The Municipality of Concordia and the Entre Ríos Police have planned the security operation for the World Cup final to be played by Argentina and Spain this Sunday, July 19. In this context, the Costanera will be the meeting point for the residents of Concordia to enjoy the match and, in the event of an Argentine National Team victory, celebrate together in a space specially prepared for the occasion.
The gathering will begin at 2:00 PM at the Costanera Sports Field, where a giant screen will be installed to follow the World Cup final live together with residents and families from all over the city.
With the aim of providing a safe and orderly environment, access to the venue will be exclusively for pedestrians. In addition, a special traffic operation will be implemented with closures in different sectors of the Costanera, which will be announced in due course to facilitate circulation and ensure the normal development of the day.
During a meeting held this Thursday at the Concordia Departmental Headquarters of the Entre Ríos Police, municipal and police authorities coordinated the actions that will be deployed before, during, and after the sporting event.
The authorities highlighted the behavior of the residents during the spontaneous celebrations last Wednesday in the city center and pointed out that the goal is that, if Argentina is crowned world champion, all that celebration will be concentrated on the Costanera, a spacious area conditioned to receive fans, preserve safety, and take care of public spaces.
In this sense, it is reported that Plaza 25 de Mayo will remain closed to the public during the day, in order to concentrate the celebrations on the Costanera and facilitate the development of the security operation.
The meeting was led by the Deputy Chief of the Entre Ríos Police Department, Commissioner Inspector Liliana Miño, the Secretary of Government Patricia Rodríguez, the Secretary of Health Diego Sauré, together with representatives of the Undersecretariat of Government, the Undersecretariat of Citizen Security, the Directorate of Traffic and Transport, the Directorate of Events, and the Ente Costanera.
