Mayor Alfredo Francolini presented to the council members regarding the different aspects concerning the fight against coronavirus in Concordia, the local contingency plan, and the guidelines of the Post-Pandemic Agenda.
Francolini's participation in the 11th session of the Deliberative Council was not officially scheduled. It was a decision by the Mayor, adopted minutes before the session, in response to various inquiries made by council members in recent days regarding issues related to the pandemic and, primarily, the mayor's interest in holding a one-on-one meeting with all council members (which had been postponed for a couple of weeks for reasons related to the current emergency).
The mayor presented a detailed report on the actions taken since the health emergency was declared in the province, and highlighted the joint work with Governor Gustavo Bordet, the Nation, the Council Members, the different areas of the Municipality and provincial agencies, the Red Cross, the Entre Ríos Police, and federal forces. “We can say that we have a controlled epidemiological situation, which is not a matter of luck. It is a matter of work,” he stated.
At the same time, the Mayor referred to the post-pandemic agenda. “There is an economic situation, and a social situation, that we are addressing. Today it is necessary that this joint work and unity that we have been carrying out continues. Beyond political parties, all sectors must work together on the programs, projects, and actions to move Concordia forward after this pandemic passes, each one contributing their best to build the future of Concordia,” he urged.
CEDRO HIGHLIGHTED THE CALL TO WORK ON THE POST-PANDEMIC
“It is important that Mayor Alfredo Francolini comes to the chamber and spontaneously recognizes the body as the oversight organ that receives all the information on what is being done at this stage,” valued the president of the Deliberative Council, Daniel Cedro.
The head of the deliberative body highlighted the decision to “carry out this report on everything that is being done during the pandemic, and to call on all sectors to outline the axes of work in the post-pandemic to move Concordia forward after this situation,” he emphasized.
POSITIVE ASSESSMENT OF THE MAYOR'S PARTICIPATION
“I was pleasantly surprised by the Mayor's visit; it is important that this be maintained, to be able to carry it out both in the Deliberative Council and also to offer it through the media, to be able to convey tranquility as well as the good work that is being done during the pandemic,” said Radical council member Luciano Dell'Olio.
“I want to join the Mayor's recognition of those who are working on the controls at the access points,” added Dell’Ollio.
“The Juntos por el Cambio bloc is permanently requesting information, and this good disposition of the Executive to transmit information is important; it is something highly favorable,” maintained council member Felipe Sastre. “From this point of view, we value and reaffirm this vocation for transparency and that citizens know what is happening within the municipal sphere,” he expressed.
“Even though there is a permanent dialogue with the Mayor, it is important that he does it institutionally by addressing the body, as he did this Thursday,” agreed council member Juan Domingo Gallo. “As Mayor Francolini pointed out, in Concordia we have a controlled situation regarding the pandemic, as a result of the effort and articulated work of many people, and of the actions taken by the Municipality together with the Province,” he highlighted.
