The Secretariat of Sports and Education of the Municipality of Concordia is advancing with the planning and organization of the 35th edition of the San Antonio de Padua Awards, which distinguish Concordia's sports. Taking into account that the last two editions were affected by the global coronavirus pandemic, work for this edition began with the necessary advance notice to guarantee and correctly organize the ceremony for the longest-running sports award in the province.
Within the framework of the sports policies promoted by the administration of mayor Alfredo Francolini, and taking into account that as the health situation improves, the different sports calendars are gradually tending to normalize, the Secretariat of Sports and Education is promoting informative meetings to guarantee the participation of all and "refresh" the guidelines of the San Antonio de Padua Award, the longest-running sports award in the province, which, after its implementation in our city, served as a guide for several cities in Entre Ríos to include it in their respective municipal agendas.
Especially with the precedent that the 2020 edition was suspended and in 2021 a special presentation of mentions was held, due to the necessary preventive measures against the pandemic. These informative meetings will also allow for a deeper understanding of the realities of the different institutions linked to the Award.
In this sense, the Secretary of Sports and Education, Marcelo Cresto, confirmed that "this Wednesday, March 23, we will hold a first general meeting at the Convention Center at 8:00 PM.". Institutions that have responsibility for the designation of the athletes who finally become recipients of the Awards in the nearly forty disciplines that will make up the list this year are summoned to it. The meeting is open to interested sports institutions that wish to participate to learn about the different articles that make up ordinance 24.454 that governs the presentation of the Awards, the articles that regulate it, and also the different criteria that are applied in each case.
