Organized by the Concordia Buró together with the Hotel and Gastronomic Association, EMCONTUR, the Municipality of Concordia and CODESAL, the meeting “Concordia 2025: Redefining Meetings Tourism” is being held, where Pablo Sismanian, an international expert, spoke about trends and strategies for meetings tourism for 2025–2026.
The opening of the event was attended by Mayor Francisco Azcué, Vice Mayor Magdalena Reta de Urquiza; the president of the Mixed Tourism Board of Concordia, Laureano Schvartzman, and the President of Concordia Buró, Agustín Negri.
Azcué maintained that “our entrepreneurs, business owners, and professionals are the engine of the city's development and growth,” which is why “it is very important for us to strengthen the virtuous triangle that is the public sector, the private sector, and academia,” noting that the State “must create the conditions for the activity to continue developing, and that is what we are working on: focused and committed to developing and boosting meetings tourism. We have enormous potential, not only due to the conditions of our land but also due to our productive matrix and the talent of our people.”
Meanwhile, Reta de Urquiza pointed out: “Tourism is an activity that generates a lot of growth and potential in the city of Concordia. All types of activities are nested here, from production to hotel activity. We are in a privileged place to be able to develop and generate new activities for our people. From the Deliberative Council, we are committed to supporting the private sector.”
Schvartzman, for his part, stated that “from the beginning, we aimed at meetings and events of this nature since we have great potential and it depends on us. That is why this Thursday –he announced– we are going to present the Strategic Tourism Plan for the 2025-2030 period, because we need to plan and think about public policies that transcend political terms.”
Finally, the president of Concordia Buró, Agustín Negri, thanked the authorities for their support: “It is very important at this moment that public and private work be seen, hand in hand with tourism meetings, to position Concordia.”
Within the framework of “Concordia 2025: Redefining Meetings Tourism,” the city is hosting 13 national and international organizers. They will learn about the destination's potential for events, congresses, corporate tourism, and sports tourism, visiting key spaces such as the Pierrestegui Airport, the Costanera, the Castillo San Carlos, the Salto Grande Lake, thermal baths, and private venues of high strategic value.
