During a new cabinet meeting led by Mayor Francisco Azcué, an analysis of the evolution of municipal revenues corresponding to the first four months of the year was carried out, and the impact of the economic reorganization measures implemented by the administration was evaluated.
In that context, the Secretary of Cabinet Coordination and Treasury, Pablo Ferreyra, pointed out that, despite the complex economic context and the decline recorded in some indicators, the municipality managed to maintain financial balance “thanks to responsible administration and the strengthening of own resources”.
“The decrease in revenue from national tax sharing in the order of 20% was partially offset by provincial tax sharing, and by remaining firm in the generation and administration of own resources, which allowed us to continue supporting the operation of the municipality without stopping works or services”, the official explained.
Furthermore, during the meeting, the reduction in current expenditure recorded between the first four months of 2025 and 2026 was highlighted, reaching a decrease of 12 percent. As reported, current expenditure went from 37 billion to 32 billion pesos, which represented savings of nearly 4.5 billion pesos that are now being poured into investments and improvements of priority services for the residents.
“The organization and efficiency in the administration of public accounts and the reduction of unproductive expenses allow us today to improve the municipality's investment capacity while maintaining a firm Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial with a historic investment with own funds”, stated Ferreyra.
