Within the framework of the II stage of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial (PID), the Municipality of Concordia is advancing with paving works in different sectors of the city.
One of those places is San Juan street, between Arruabarrena and Etchevehere, where soil consolidation works are being carried out before executing the paving. Prior to this, valve replacements, piping, and reconnections to utility networks were performed.
The mayor Francisco Azcué indicated that due to the characteristics of the area, “significant and complex work had to be done where issues related to the water network were resolved, with the replacement of valves. This gives us the peace of mind that once the pavement is ready, it will last over time.”
This stage of the Infrastructure Plan also includes, in that sector, the paving of Etchevehere street, between San Juan and Hipólito Yrigoyen; Hipólito Yrigoyen street, between Etchevehere and O'Connor; and O'Connor street, between Hipólito Yrigoyen and Eva Perón Avenue.
In this regard, Azcué remarked that “when it is finished, there will be a circulation ring that changes the living conditions of the residents, properties are revalued, transitability improves, and it benefits educational institutions located in this area. The benefits are multiple.”
POSITIVE BALANCE AND CONTINUITY OF THE PID
When taking stock, Azcué maintained that “we are very happy with the progress of the PID. The works will continue, we will continue investing resources to reach more neighborhoods in Concordia.”
In that sense, he stated that this will be possible when the production level of the Municipal Paver Plant is higher and the new Asphalt Plant that will operate in the Industrial Park is put into operation. “These are priorities set by the residents themselves, with whom we are in permanent dialogue,” highlighted Azcué.
“They also ask about Mi Cuadra PROGR.E.S.S.A, a program where residents finance the materials and the Municipality carries out the work. In this sector, we are going to do it with pavers,” announced Azcué.
For his part, the Secretary of Public Works, Fernando Esquibel, pointed out that “very soon we will also be paving Belgrano street, between San Lorenzo boulevard and Salto Uruguayo; also 6 de Caballería between San Lorenzo and Chabrillón. We are paving, and the reality is that we are very satisfied with the progress of the works.”
