Within the framework of a proximity and institutional strengthening plan, Governor Rogelio Frigerio led a citizen security day this Thursday, which included a tour of neighborhoods in Concordia, dialogue with residents, and the presentation of results from anti-narcotics operations in the region.
The governor was accompanied by the Minister of Security and Justice, Néstor Roncaglia; the mayor, Francisco Azcué; and the Chief of Police, Claudio González. The tour began in the San Miguel 1° neighborhood, where a meeting was held at the Community Center, with the participation of neighborhood leaders and presidents of the neighborhood commissions of San Miguel 2°, Las Colinas, and Isthilart Norte.
During the activity, Frigerio highlighted that one of the main objectives of his administration is to restore tranquility to the families of Entre Ríos. "I know, because many of you told me personally, that there were many years of living in fear. And there is nothing more distressing than that, especially when one is a father or mother. That is why one of the first decisions we made together with the Minister of Security and Justice was to work towards having a police force with greater proximity to the residents, one of trust and presence on the street," he stated, while valuing the progress in rebuilding the bond between the force and the community.
In that sense, he remarked on the importance of joint work to face complex problems such as violence and drug trafficking. "These problems are not solved overnight, but knowing that we can work as a team -the residents, the neighborhood leaders, the mayor, and our police- alleviates this difficult situation we have been going through for so long, and it is what we are working for," he maintained.
For his part, Mayor Francisco Azcué expressed: "We want to convey that we are proud of our city, of this San Miguel 1° neighborhood, and of working together with you to improve our environment and organize the city. We know there is still much to be done, but we are working every day to move forward."
Meanwhile, the representative of the San Miguel I neighborhood, Víctor Rodríguez, highlighted the presence of the authorities and remarked on the joint commitment to continue working in favor of the neighborhood and strengthening security in the area.
The authorities heard firsthand the concerns of the community, such as the issue of drug bunkers demolished in recent times in the city, among others, seeking to consolidate in this way the bond between citizens and security forces, to optimize crime prevention in the area.

Within the framework of the meeting, it was reported that, so far this year, 864 raids have already been carried out and 629 detainees have been registered. Likewise, in just three months, more than 3.7 kilograms of cocaine and 5.5 kilograms of marijuana were seized, which represents almost a third of everything seized the previous year. In addition, police presence on the streets was intensified, with 210 saturation operations and the seizure of 43 firearms, managing to remove highly dangerous elements from circulation for society.
