In the 25th ordinary session of the Deliberative Council of Concordia, presided over by the vice-mayor Lic. Magdalena Reta de Urquiza and with the attendance of ten councilors, projects of high institutional impact were discussed and approved. During the meeting, the deliberative body gave the green light to the city's scheduled urban nomenclature plan, admitted a request for the adaptation of local electrical regulations, and supported a broad agenda of educational, health, and cultural activities.
Within the framework of the street naming plan, the plenary unanimously sanctioned the ordinance that grants official names to arteries in the Concordia I neighborhood. Presented by councilor Emmanuel Godoy, the initiative resolves a historical demand of the local families by establishing the names of General Mariano Necochea (section between Dr. Sauré and Yamandú Rodríguez, delimited by Paula Albarracín de Sarmiento and Odiard), Isthillart Este (pedestrian passage between La Pampa and Isthillart, from J. J. Valle to Yamandú Rodríguez), and Yamandú Rodríguez Norte (between Yamandú Rodríguez and J. J. Valle, delimited by Odiard and Paula Albarracín de Sarmiento). As highlighted by the head of the body and the reporting councilor, this delimitation transcends administrative formality to constitute a basic right that ensures the arrival of ambulances, courier services, and security.
In addition, the request from the collective of electrical technicians to adapt local regulations to the new schemes of the Provincial Energy Regulatory Agency was received, an action that was referred to the Municipal Executive Department for its corresponding technical evaluation.
Resolution Projects
In the area of resolutions, the legislative body granted the declaration of Municipal and Educational Interest to the robotics competition "Tecnovincularte 2026", an initiative promoted by councilors Silvina Ovelar, Emmanuel Godoy, Carolina Amiano and organized by the Technical Secondary School of the UNER Faculty of Food Sciences. In its sixth edition, the proposal calls for 15 primary schools and 42 projects from sixth-grade students, who designed robots in basic and advanced categories (with programming on platforms such as Arduino and Scratch) to solve everyday problems. The exhibition and evaluation will take place on Wednesday, September 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the headquarters on 59th Street and Gregoria Pérez.
Likewise, promoted by councilwoman Claudia Villalba, the declaration of Municipal and Social Interest was approved for the community awareness day at the framework of World Suicide Prevention Day, which takes place this Thursday, September 10, at 3:00 p.m. in Plaza 25 de Mayo. The event articulates the work of the organization "Lazos en Red", the School of Nursing, UADER, ISEF, and the La Bianca School, including informative talks with professionals, recreational activities, and the performance of a play about Alfonsina Storni by secondary students.
The plenary also declared of Municipal Interest the V Regional Genetics Conference, organized by the Argentine Genetics Society (Litoral Regional) for September 17 and 18 at the UNER Faculty of Food Sciences. Masvernat Hospital. The training is aimed at technicians, graduates, and operating room personnel in the use of C-arm equipment and radiation protection standards.

Tributes
During the space reserved for tributes and statements, the chamber was the scene of intense political and institutional debates between the different benches. Councilor Jorge Mendieta opened the exchange by exposing the critical service situation that PAMI affiliates are going through in the city; in that sense, the councilor warned about the pressing need for official responses after the recent death of a 74-year-old retiree who was awaiting a medical referral to Concepción del Uruguay.
In turn, councilor Felipe Sastre referred to the confirmation of the sentences by the National Supreme Court of Justice against former provincial officials. The councilor maintained that the ruling ratifies the actions of judicial institutions under due process, dismissing the claims of political persecution. The intervention motivated the reply of the opposition bloc and led to a crossing of positions on the criteria of justice and the progress of ongoing local complaints.
On the other hand, councilor Silvina Ovelar took the floor to commemorate Teacher's Day - which is celebrated throughout the country every September 11 in honor of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento -, highlighting the vocation, daily effort, and transformative role of teachers in the community.
In the final stretch of the tribute block, councilors Celeste Fuscado and Pablo Bovino emphasized the importance of community and institutional articulation in addressing mental health. Both councilors valued the prevention work being carried out in the city within the framework of World Suicide Prevention Day and reminded citizens of the validity and availability of the free telephone line 135 to provide immediate assistance and support.
