In the 19th Ordinary Session, the Deliberative Council of Concordia, presided over by the Vice Mayor Magdalena Reta de Urquiza and the presence of the thirteen council members, approved a series of projects. The most prominent measure was the enactment of the new ordinance of the Concordia Mixed Tourism Entity (EMCONTUR), which received nine votes in favor and the rejection of the Justicialist Party bloc.
New regulations for EMCONTUR
Vice Mayor Reta de Urquiza celebrated the approval, describing the project as a campaign promise of the current administration. "The previous ordinance was impossible to implement. This new regulation truly organizes everything and clearly defines the functions of EMCONTUR," she stated. "It was the organizations themselves that requested it be discussed today, on the floor," she concluded.
Recognition of Malvinas female veterans and cultural agenda
The session also served to recognize figures and events of great relevance. Unanimously, the motion by council member Claudia Villalba to declare Guest of Honor three heroines and veterans of the 1982 Malvinas War: María Liliana Colino, Silvia Barrera, and Mariana Florinda Soneira. The council member highlighted that history "hid them" and that today it is "justice to recognize the valor, integrity, courage, and deep love for our flag" that they demonstrated.
