Sub-commissioner Pablo Sanchez, who recently assumed the leadership of the Concordia Anti-Drug Division of the Federal Police, was received by Mayor Enrique Cresto in his office. "It was a protocol meeting, an introduction," said the police official, and described the encounter as "an excellent first meeting".
"We hope to be able to contribute to the work of the Security Council and do our bit," noted Sub-commissioner Sanchez and specified that "we have a specific task, we are a very specific and operational delegation in the fight against drug trafficking". In this sense, he commented that "we are on the Mercosur route, we have an international bridge, many elements to take into account" and to reinforce the work being carried out in Concordia. "The Division is new but we have started to do a lot of work, I think we are on the right track," he added.
"Secondly," he continued, "we coordinated a good cultural proposal. The idea is to bring our Symphony Orchestra to Concordia, which would take place next month. We have to finish agreeing on it, but that is the intention," he noted.
For his part, Mayor Cresto congratulated Sub-commissioner Sánchez on his recent appointment and renewed the commitment to joint work with the force he represents, making available the tools the Municipality has to collaborate in the actions carried out by the Federal Police, regarding such a complex issue as drug trafficking.
