The Municipality of Concordia, through the Undersecretariat of Education and Culture, continues to promote public policies aimed at strengthening access to reading, knowledge, and education in the different neighborhoods of the city.
Within the framework of the Municipal Library Program, four new spaces were inaugurated this Wednesday in the San Juan, Villa Jardín, Almirante Brown, and Universidad neighborhoods. In this way, Concordia now has a total of 30 municipal libraries, each with more than 1,000 books, expanding opportunities for access to reading for children, youth, and adults.
The incorporation of these libraries was made possible thanks to the efforts that have been carried out since 2024 before Bibliotecas Rurales Argentinas, whose contribution allows for the continued expansion of the availability of bibliographic material and the promotion of spaces for meeting, learning, and community participation.
During the day, the mayor Francisco Azcué remarked that “this is an important step to strengthen education and culture in our city. Libraries are essential places for the development of our communities, which is why it makes us very happy to see children and young people, with their families, taking ownership of these spaces”
Likewise, referring to the growth of the program, Azcué maintained: “in addition to the works carried out with the Infrastructure and Development Plan, actions that allow for the growth and development of people are contemplated, and these spaces are on that path. We invite residents to come and use them”.
For his part, the Secretary of Human Development Carlos Gatto highlighted the importance of continuing to strengthen the initiatives that bring education and culture to every neighborhood, promoting access to books and generating new opportunities for the families of Concordia.
Through the Municipal Library Program, the municipality continues to strengthen a network of spaces that promote the habit of reading, access to knowledge, and meetings between residents.
