This Thursday, paving and repaving work began on Dr. Sauré Street, between La Pampa Street and Yuquerí Boulevard. The project is part of the Infrastructure Plan carried out by the Municipality of Concordia, with its own resources and an investment exceeding 480 million pesos.
Mayor Francisco Azcué was on-site, where he stated that “this work is the product of planning and state efficiency, carried out with our own resources,” noting that “this year we are going to develop an unprecedented infrastructure plan in the history of Concordia, where we plan to allocate 20% of our budget to asphalt, curb and gutter, utility networks, water, sewage, and public lighting works.”
Azcué maintained that to achieve these objectives, it is important “to be efficient with state resources and have the right number of employees in each area. We are in favor of managing responsibly and being able to bring people the works they ask for and need to have a better quality of life.”
WORKS AT STRATEGIC POINTS
For his part, the Secretary of Public Works, Fernando Esquibel, pointed out that “within the urbanization index, strategic mobility development points, such as clubs and schools, were studied to identify the blocks and ensure that the investment yields 100% and the response to demand is in accordance with existing needs.”
Along those lines, regarding the work on Dr. Sauré Street, Esquibel detailed that the intervention includes hydraulic works, “where new reconnections will be made and existing household connections that are in poor condition will be replaced; new valves will be installed, and the network will be left in optimal conditions so that it does not affect the performance of the pavement.”
CHARACTERISTICS
The work is divided into two sections: from La Pampa Street to Paula Albarracín it will be paved, while from Paula Albarracín to Yuquerí Boulevard, the structural package will be completely rebuilt, including milling of the existing asphalt layer, compaction, soil-cement base, finishing with a hot-mix asphalt layer.
In addition, the construction and reconstruction of gutters and sections of curb and gutter will be carried out to improve the free flow of surface water, as well as patching some areas with concrete and asphalt.
Undersecretary of Public Works Mateo Sastre and Work Inspector Engineer Carla Pagano were present.
