Organized by the Directorate of Innovation and Knowledge Economy, the 1st Friendly Robotics Tournament, 2026 edition, was held, where students attending the Concordia Robotics Club put the skills acquired throughout the workshop to the test.
It was an internal competition under the name: "line followers" category, in which 10 teams made up of two members each participated, with their respective robot.
The day, full of technology, programming, and educational robotics, was accompanied by family and friends, where participants challenged the tracks and faced each other one by one, attempting to achieve the best times, resulting in five qualified groups who will represent the Concordia Robotics Club in an inter-school meeting to be held in November of this year.
Mayor Francisco Azcué highlighted the Robotics Club "as a training space, where children's interest in robotics and programming is stimulated, in addition to encouraging the creativity of each one of them. We are committed to education as a tool for transformation, which is why this year we expanded the capacity to receive children so that they have more possibilities to participate. That is the path in all aspects, within the municipality, outside the municipality, and above all, thinking about our youth".
The organizing team highlighted "the importance of carrying out these types of activities since it not only tests what the children have learned in the workshops, but also provides them with the necessary tools to interact with their peers from other institutions in future meetings".
The Head of the Robotics Department, Lic. Andrea Solari, for her part, highlighted: "this is the second time we have shared meetings of this type. Last year we already held a day in which the Club participated together with two other institutions, from which we obtained first place, as well as in the International Congress of Educational Robotics held at the National Technological University, obtaining the first two prizes and third place in the line follower category".
AVAILABLE VACANCIES
Finally, the coordination team commented that there are still vacancies available for those who wish to join the Robotics Club. Pre-registrations will be open until next Friday the 14th and classes begin the last week of August.
