“It is one of the most important works of the administration, along with the future sewage treatment plant,” assured the mayor Enrique Cresto together with technicians from the National Entity of Water and Sanitation Works, officials from EDOS and the municipality, and representatives of the company carrying out the work. At this moment, the initial stage of laying the piping that will carry water from the intake plant to the distribution center is being finalized.
“This stage is around 20% complete and is within the established deadlines. The weather has been favorable and that helps a lot because there is significant earthmoving,” observed Cresto. He pointed out that once the work is completed, “it will supply water to the entire city, bringing a solution to one of the problems that affects Concordia,” representing a solution for the coming decades.
The New Water Plant is being built in the "Naranjal de Pereda" area. While in the area near the Masvernat Hospital, the Center for
Redistribution will be located, and from a ring system that will encircle the city, the entire network will be supplied with water. The work is the result of articulated efforts between the Municipality, the Provincial Government, and the National Government, contemplates an investment of over 600 million pesos, and has an execution period of 3 years.
“This is one of the most important works of the administration, along with what will be the future sewage treatment plant on the La Charita property, which will have a budget of around 700 million pesos,” pointed out Cresto. Regarding this project, after the various efforts made by the municipality, CARU, and other organizations, it is expected that the bidding process will be completed this year, "because it is transcendental for the residents of Concordia to have that plant as well. We would have the solution of supplying water and also the treatment of sewage, which is something we have been working on together with the Province and the National Government," he noted.
Continuing with the subject of water supply to the city, the mayor recalled that the Roca Project work, which is being executed with municipal and provincial funds, is very advanced. “That work is very advanced and in a short time more water will be injected into the entire northwest area of Concordia, reaching thousands of residents”.
The tour included the presence of Engineer Sergio Sur, Technical Inspector of the National Entity of Water and Sanitation Works (ENOHSA); the vice-mayor Armando Gay; the coordinator of special projects of Public Works, Cristian Buffa; Architect Mireya López Bernis and Juan Grigolatto, auditors of the Decentralized Entity of Sanitary Works (EDOS), accompanied by Agustín Lescano of the JCR Company, which is carrying out the work.
