With the objective of continuing to contribute to the growth of the Pequeños Duendes Carnival, the Carnival Entity and the Unisur Troupe signed a collaboration agreement through which the city's historic troupe will collaborate with the "cultural transfer" from the main carnival to the youth development program, through workshops and artistic and aesthetic guidance.
Matías Soto, President of the Carnival Entity, Sonia Albornos, Coordinator of the Pequeños Duendes Carnival, Councilman Sebastián Cuberli, and the Secretary of Government and Tourism, Alfredo Francolini, representing Mayor Cresto, signed an agreement together with the renowned Unisur Troupe, with the aim of working together on the organization of the 2015 edition of the children's Carnival.
Sonia Albornos, coordinator of the Pequeños Duendes Carnival, maintained that the organization is going very well and that everyone is preparing with great enthusiasm and effort. "Children bring another color and depth to what is the summer festival; the teamwork of parents, children, and residents of each neighborhood stands out strongly," Albornos pointed out. "Since 2015, by decision of Mayor Enrique Cresto, this event is a State policy, which stands out for being an inclusive and participatory festival," she added.
Regarding the signed agreement, Matías Soto, President of the Carnival Entity, highlighted: "we are very happy to be able to work as a team, together with the Unisur Troupe. They will transmit all their experience in the children's Carnival." This year, continued Soto, "Unisur will take a 'break' from the main carnival parades, but will be actively present in the Pequeños Duendes, collaborating, helping, and guiding the youth development program of the Concordia carnival. As an expression and popular festival, the Carnival is one, in its different expressions, and in the children's carnival with the motto of being participatory, the children learn much of what those who, upon becoming adults, move on to the competitive Carnival will later show," he maintained.
For her part, the President of the Unisur Troupe, Hilda Decastelli de Romero, expressed: "I am proud of my children; in these 15 years, I have been able to see them grow and improve themselves," and pointed out that this year they will be working with the Pequeños Duendes to motivate them to express all the love that one must have for the team jersey and for the neighborhood that each one represents.
For his part, Diego Romero, Drum Section Director of Unisur, indicated: "It is beautiful to know that in the country we are pioneers; there is no other carnival exclusive to children, and we are proud to be part of the Pequeños Duendes. With our successes and failures, we always aim for one thing," mentioned Romero, "to inspire the children to go to the Carnival, to play, to prepare their costumes, to collaborate, because this is what we are passionate about, what we have loved doing for 15 years now; we are like a family," he expressed.
