The Municipality of Concordia participated in a session of the “Mayores Conectados” program, an initiative aimed at providing digital tools to retired individuals so they can operate with greater autonomy and security in the use of technology and the management of their finances.
The activity took place at the Civic Center of Concordia and was led by Diana Yáñez, a trainer for the Nuevo Banco de Entre Ríos, who provided practical knowledge to facilitate the use of digital tools and promote greater technological inclusion for older adults.
The session was attended by the Secretary of Cabinet Coordination and Treasury of the Municipality of Concordia, Cr. Pablo Sebastián Ferreyra; the Director of Citizen Attention and Consumer Defense, Dr. Guido Di Gioia; and the Head of the Department of Senior Citizen Policies, Gladys Portugal.
In this context, Ferreyra highlighted the importance of creating training spaces that support older adults in the face of technological changes and allow them to operate with greater confidence in their daily lives. “It is essential that our older adults have tools that allow them to use technology safely and take advantage of its benefits. From the Municipality, we support these proposals because we understand that digital inclusion also means more autonomy, access to information, and better possibilities for carrying out procedures and managing their finances,” the official stated.
The “Mayores Conectados” program includes four free sessions aimed at developing digital skills, with the goal of strengthening the autonomy of older adults in the use of devices and technological services.
Regarding this, Di Gioia stated: “With the large number of people who collect their earnings through the Nuevo Banco de Entre Ríos, we called upon the community and especially the representatives of the retirement centers, so that this training has the greatest possible reach. Financial inclusion relies on access, use, and quality of services, and financial education is the tool that allows that access to translate into safe use. An informed user is a more autonomous user and better protected against digital scams.”
The activity was organized in a coordinated manner by the Directorate of Innovation and Knowledge Economy, the Directorate of Citizen Attention and Consumer Defense, and the Department of Senior Citizen Policies, in conjunction with the Nuevo Banco de Entre Ríos and the Government of the Province of Entre Ríos.
In this way, the Municipality reaffirms the importance of joint work between institutions to promote training, digital inclusion, and support initiatives aimed at the city's older adults.
