The children's carnival troupes bring all their joy and color every Friday and Sunday in February to different neighborhoods of the city, in free parades for the whole family. Known as the "nursery of the Concordia carnival," it surprises with the passion of the young dancers and the colorfulness of their costumes.
Last Friday they paraded in the Pompeya neighborhood on Vélez Sarsfield street, while this Sunday it was the turn of the Centenario neighborhood. The mayor Alfredo Francolini, together with the Secretary of Sports and Education Marcelo Cresto, accompanied the parades and congratulated the coordinators of each troupe and the organizing committee for "the work they do so that the children can enjoy the carnival, express themselves, and share moments of joy and happiness."
In this sense, the mayor highlighted that "through this cultural and social program coordinated by the Secretariat of Sports, in addition to giving many families the opportunity to be protagonists of the Carnival, an important task of monitoring the children's health conditions is carried out, fostering more opportunities for inclusion for all."
There are 10 children's troupes in which more than 500 children participate in total. The closing of the 2022 edition will take place on Sunday, February 20, at the "Atanasio Bonfiglio" Corsódromo. There, the ten troupes will parade down the track starting at 8:30 PM. On this occasion, families who wish to enjoy the show are invited to donate school supplies, which will be collected at the entrance and destined to support children from the most vulnerable sectors in their school trajectory.
