During this long weekend due to the national carnival holidays, Concordia revives the passion of one of the city's main festivities through different activities that will be carried out throughout these days under strict protocols. An exhibition at the Tourist Information Center (CIT) with costumes, crowns, a photo gallery, and videos of the Pequeños Duendes Carnival and the parades at the Corsódromo, which can be visited throughout the weekend, and the continuation of the "La Pasión Sigue Intacta" cycle on social media and television channels, are some of the proposals to relive a unique celebration that attracts thousands of fans and tourists every year.
"Within the limitations we have due to the health emergency caused by the pandemic, this is a very good proposal, both for the residents of Concordia and for the tourists visiting us this weekend, to relive what the Carnival is and see how it has grown in recent years and what it means for all the residents of Concordia, being one of the most important and popular festivals in the province," noted the mayor Alfredo Francolini regarding the exhibition held at the Tourist Information Center on Mitre and Pellegrini streets.
During a tour he carried out this Friday, the Mayor, together with the Secretaries of Management Coordination Fernando Barboza, Tourism Aldo Álvarez, and Social Development Amadeo Cresto, and the coordinator of Popular Festivals Matias Soto, highlighted the importance that "the passion of the Concordia Carnival continues to burn. This year we will not have parades at the Corsódromo because we must continue to take care of ourselves, but the Carnival is a very important festival for thousands of families, it is an unprecedented cultural event and it is one of the main tourist attractions of the summer, and it is reflected here," stressed Francolini.
"There are three thematic rooms that we are presenting," pointed out Aldo Álvarez regarding the exhibition held at the CIT. "In the first one, there are costumes, headdresses, caps, and other distinctive elements of both the main Carnival and the Pequeños Duendes. In the second room, there is a Photo Gallery that shows the Carnival from the inside. And the external room is dedicated to the floats," he detailed. "It is important that in the complex moment we are going through, we can show how passionate our carnival is, and that the tourists who come this weekend get to know this festival," he indicated.
VIRTUAL PARADE
"In the joint work that we are carrying out from the Carnival Entity and the Secretariat of Tourism, we have aimed to take advantage of the potential that social media gives us, which has a reach far beyond the limits of our city, and reach both those who know our Carnival, but also reach many other people. Everything that is being done on social media, the La Pasión Sigue Intacta cycle, the online photo galleries, the clips and spots, and above all the Virtual Parade that we prepared for this Saturday at 10 p.m., which will be seen simultaneously through social media, both on Facebook and YouTube, and also on Tele5, Canal 2, Redes TV, the TDA, and on more than 70 channels in the province and neighboring provinces, through the Entrerriana Television Association, is a great calling card," invited Soto.
The director of Cultural Workshops and Events Sonia Albornos, coordinator of the Pequeños Duendes Carnival, the nursery of the Concordia carnival, who is also carrying out a cycle through the local channel and social media, reliving the past edition, also participated in the tour of the exhibition. The thematic exhibition at the CIT can be visited until Tuesday with extended hours until 12 a.m.
