The Municipality of Concordia, through the Secretariat of Public Services, continues with the neighborhood operations that are carried out weekly in different sectors of the city within the framework of public policies that aim to perform maintenance, cleaning, and eradication of dumpsites, but also to generate a commitment on the part of the residents to take care of the place where they live.
The Mayor Francisco Azcué was in the Toronjal neighborhood, where sanitation and environmental awareness work was carried out: “from our position, we fulfill what corresponds to us, going to different neighborhoods, but it is also important that, as residents, we all fulfill the role that corresponds to us; that is why we come, talk to them, listen to their requests, but we ask them to help us take care of the city”.
The Directorate of Environmental Sanitation, through the Division of Environmental Services, carried out junk removal, insect fumigation, and rodent control work. The crews went house to house offering these services to the residents and, in cases where they were requested, the corresponding interventions were carried out.
For its part, the Directorate of Environmental Sanitation, belonging to the Undersecretariat of Environment, carried out weeding and maintenance work in different sectors of the neighborhood. In addition, improvement tasks were executed in five squares, with cleaning, maintenance, and installation of playground equipment, with the aim of enhancing these recreational spaces for the residents.
In parallel, environmental education actions were developed with the residents, promoting good practices for the care of the environment. Likewise, interventions were made in different micro-dumpsites, which were eradicated, and preventive signs were placed to warn and prevent waste from being dumped in those places again.
