The Municipality of Concordia, through the Employment Directorate, carried out a Wood Lacquering Workshop, a practical training proposal aimed at providing tools and knowledge related to this trade and generating new opportunities for labor and entrepreneurial development.
The activity was developed through joint work between the Municipality of Concordia and the private sector, with the participation of Bourlot, Centro de Cortes, Placas & Herrajes, which supported the proposal by providing the materials necessary for the development of the training.
During the meeting, different techniques for surface preparation, sanding, and conditioning were addressed, with special emphasis on the application of solvent-based polyurethane lacquer by brush and the procedures necessary to obtain quality finishes. The training was conducted by Martín Coduri, who shared technical and practical knowledge.
Likewise, information was provided on the use of water-based hydrolacquer, an alternative within wood finishing systems, on which it is planned to advance soon with specific training, in order to delve into its characteristics, application techniques, and possibilities for use.
The Director of Employment, Juan Manuel Scarzello, highlighted the importance of generating these types of proposals and noted: “Training in trades is a concrete tool that allows for the incorporation of knowledge that can be transformed into a job opportunity, a new activity for an enterprise, or simply one more tool for those seeking to continue their education.”
In that sense, Scarzello remarked on the importance of coordination with the private sector: “This workshop is an example that when we can work together with those who have experience and knowledge in an activity, we can generate training that is much more practical and closer to the real needs of the labor market.”
The work with the private sector allowed for the implementation of a practical and free-of-charge training instance, bringing concrete tools to residents interested in incorporating knowledge related to woodworking and its possibilities of application in personal, labor, and productive projects.
The proposal is part of the training and education policies for work promoted by the Municipality of Concordia, through the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial, with the objective of providing tools for learning trades, strengthening labor capacities, and expanding opportunities for productive and entrepreneurial development.
The Employment Directorate will continue to promote these types of initiatives, strengthening coordination with companies and actors in the private sector to generate new training instances linked to the demands and opportunities of the local labor market.
