Cresto pointed out that, unlike other cities in the country, in Concordia there are no problems linked to so-called "urban tribes" nor generalized problems of violence among young people, but that it is necessary to reinforce the actions that have been carried out to collaborate with the preventive measures carried out by the Police and prevent these events from happening again.
The meeting was also attended by Cabinet Coordinator María de los Ángeles Petit, Government Secretary Marcelo Benedetto, councilors Alberto Armanazqui, Amadeo Cresto and Julia Saenz, the municipality's Director of Prevention and Citizen Security Diego Passarello, among other municipal officials, judges, prosecutors, and police authorities.
In the meeting, it was decided to continue working together with ECU on the prevention and security of the different activities linked to Student Day, to call a meeting with the different representative sectors of adolescents (ECU, Student Centers, etc.) in order to articulate control measures and awareness campaigns, to support from the municipality workshops and reflection instances and other actions that the Provincial Government will implement through the CGE, and to reinforce controls on the sale of alcoholic beverages and the entry of minors to nightclubs and parties.
"We do not want an event to occur that we will later regret. The Municipality makes available to the Police and the Justice system all the tools and infrastructure we have so that there are stricter controls and these types of incidents are deterred," said mayor Cresto. "Events like the one that occurred have nothing to do with deep social problems, they can be avoided if limits are set. That is why from the Municipal State we are going to mark our presence, we are going to reinforce controls and the accompaniment of parents and each family is also important," he maintained.
In the first days of this week, different operational meetings with different sectors will continue and the possibility of convening the Deliberative Council was not ruled out, in case the sanction or modification of an ordinance that contributes to guaranteeing tranquility in public spaces is required.
