This Friday, the virtual carnival training on “Percussion, tuning, equality of management and leadership” concluded, framed within the “La Pasión Sigue Intacta 2021” cycle launched by the Concordia Carnival Entity to promote the development of the most passionate popular festival in the country.
With attendees passionate about rhythm and percussion, the classes on “Percussion, tuning, equality of management and leadership” taught by the prestigious Drum Master Rodrigo Moleza, director of the “Unidos de Vila María” drum section and prominent personality of the Paulista Carnival, concluded.
The virtual meetings included the development of theoretical and practical aspects where drum masters, percussionists, and carnival enthusiasts were able to exchange experiences with Master Moleza. Attendees from different locations and provinces of the country and percussionists from Brazil were able to share experiences and comment on aspects of the different carnivals.
The executive director of the Carnival Entity, Miguel Guitar, stated that “the balance of the virtual training cycle is very positive; the different classes and virtual meetings with the various speakers were very enriching, and we were pleasantly surprised by the participation of people not only from Concordia and different parts of the country, but also by the support of carnival members from other countries, which allows for the exchange of experiences”.
“Moleza's training was very interesting; the clarification of the difference between studio tuning and parade tuning is accurate, and the items or 'tips' for exercises on the instruments are very helpful. Talking about the 'escolinhas' generates awareness of training new percussionists for the future,” valued one of the participants, emphasizing that “the exchange of ideas is very valuable, knowing the way of working in other places helps to improve and understand how to rehearse and prepare for the carnival”.
Participants will receive digital certificates of attendance virtually, endorsed and signed by the speaker.
