The assembly of the 2018 Carnival stands has begun
As improvement works progress at the “Atanasio Bonfiglio” Corsódromo grounds, promoted by Mayor Enrique Cresto with the goal of boosting the Carnival as the great tourist attraction of the summer, the assembly of the stands began this Wednesday, which will be ready for the first inaugural night of the Battle of the Passions on Saturday, January 20th.
"The Concordia Carnival is a social, cultural, and tourist event in which thousands of residents participate and in which, year after year, the Comparsas put forth their greatest effort to provide a unique spectacle," remarked Mayor Enrique Cresto, and recalled that in addition to the "major carnival" or "competition carnival," the city also experiences the Carnival of the Little Elves, the great carnival nursery, which will tour the neighborhoods during the weekends of January and February, bringing joy, fun, and integration.
Matías Soto, president of the Carnival Entity, highlighted the very good level of inquiries and ticket sales through the online system. "We had already seen it through the website last year, and now that we have improved the system, it allows us to continue growing," he maintained. "The Mayor's decision is for the carnival to continue growing and improving, which is why he ordered various improvements to the grounds, such as paving and the construction of sidewalks, which will provide greater comfort to both the artists and the public attending," Soto valued, and assured that "we are going to experience a great celebration."
