The city of Concordia awaits the arrival of carnival nights to enjoy the greatest celebration of the people of Concordia. With thousands of protagonists on the “Atanasio Bonfiglio” Corsódromo avenue, imposing floats, and creativity and talent fused into a magical spectacle, passion, color, and joy are displayed in an incredible and majestic show with its own hallmark that captivates the moons of the months of January and February.
As a ritual that is repeated annually, on the Saturdays of the summer months, the city of Concordia dresses up to offer one of the most anticipated spectacles in the region, capable of gathering thousands of spectators who will enjoy the brightness, joy, emotion, and rhythm of the comparsas that will parade before them at the local Corsódromo.
Emperatriz, Bella Samba, Ráfaga, and Imperio, with their brilliant costumes, their floats, their feathers, their dancing skills, with passionate dancers and percussionists, are the ones that take over the runway every night, filling it with brightness, passion, and dance, representing interesting allegorical themes, spreading rhythm and fun, and overflowing with emotion in every sense.
Behind the scenes
In a tour of the workshops, warehouses, and rehearsals of the comparsas competing in the festival, the groups agreed that each costume is unique; behind them are designers, blacksmiths, artisans, joined by families, friends, and residents who make it possible to arrive on time. Thus, they assemble complex structures with wires, embroider, sew, glue, dye feathers, paint, and work from the moment the results of one edition are known until the beginning of the next to provide a quality show to the Concordia public and the tourists who visit the greatest summer festival.
The workshops safeguard their own world of fantasy dominated by color, sequins, stones, feathers, crystals, but above all, passion and work to share a unique moment.
They prepare throughout the year. As soon as each edition ends, they begin to meet to see and analyze the proposals, arguments, and music for the next one. In the months prior to the event, the sound of drums takes over the city of Concordia and the samba enredos begin to be sung by the locals who are already feeling the pulse of a new carnival. The comparsas rehearse and the music reaches every corner of the city, marking what is to come.
The floats are one of the most anticipated attractions of each Carnival night. They are the ones that transport the queens and dancers of each comparsa.
The carnival groups prepare their imposing structures in the warehouses to surprise the carnival public, and float builders, friends, and family members gather to collaborate on different tasks or accompany with mates and delicious tererés.
The Concordia carnival is a unique popular spectacle, in which the percussion shows also take the stage and each comparsa performs a theatricalization with dance according to the chosen theme. There are a large number of amateur carnival performers who dedicate themselves to something else during the year (there are professionals, merchants, teachers, professors, students) but who in the summer put their passion into it, breaking prejudices and enjoying the great local festival.
Ticket sales and promotions
This Monday, a weekly promotion was enabled to acquire tables in the VIP sector, chairs, and general tickets for the first moon of the Concordia Carnival, which is scheduled for January 25th.
By purchasing two VIP tables in Sector “A” or “E” or two chairs in Sector “A” or “D”, the one of lower value has a 50% discount. In addition, the promotion also includes the purchase of general tickets, applying the same discount.
By entering www.carnavalconcordia.com.ar (the official website of the Concordia Carnival), you can access the online sales system that allows you to purchase the tables on promotion for the parade on Saturday, January 25th, in addition to being able to buy tickets as well.
Payment can be made online through credit or debit cards, or by printing the coupon for payment at Caja Mixta. This promotion will be valid until 12 noon this Friday, January 10th.
